Quotations From Wise Men

Wisdom is the main thing; therefore get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

(Proverbs 4:7)

I have been collecting thought-provoking quotes that are meaningful to me since I was in high school. I have forgotten who was responsible for most of these wise statements. I have put all of them together on this page. A reading of my unorganized collection will aid in understanding more about my own thinking. Though nothing said is wiser than the statements of the Bible, I have not attempted to share any of my favorite passages of Scripture for this list.

We become wiser when we learn from our own bad judgements.
I am convinced that the most painless way that wisdom can
be gained is by learning from the judgements of wise men.
