The men's tepidarium was a warm room between the cold and hot bath areas.
Niches on the wall here were separated by Herculean figures made of
terracotta. The ceiling is a barrel vault with stucco designs. This floor
was tiled with a simple diamond pattern. (In the ladies' baths, the floor
and ceiling were usually more decorative and feminine.) On the opposite end
of this room there is a brazier which was used to heat the room.
(It is possible that I have misidentified this room. It may be the changing room, apodyterium, but the doorways don't match the floor plan.) |
